These cheery prints read as solid, but the texture look of the burlap prints gives them dimension--a perfect coordinate for your favorite fabrics, and equally fun on their own!
To celebrate these Burlap Brights, we've put together a blog hop of blocks--11 block tutorials from our designing friends using a rainbow of six fat quarters. Be sure to check out all the tutorials on the schedule below! We'll also be giving away fat quarter bundles of the six burlap brights the designers used to create their blocks, so don't miss the chance to enter to win one!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors ! But when I think of Burlap, the only think i have known to use it for was to make flowers, baskets, decor for a door hanger. From the burlap that I have seen, I cannot imagine making a quilt with it. Will it stand washing? Wont it be rough? Sorry, I do have a lot of questions, I am new to Burlap.Hoping to hear from you soon.

Hi Linda,
DeleteThe fabric is called Burlap because it has a pattern on it that looks like traditional burlap fabric. However, it's actually Benartex's regular high-quality quilting cotton. The "texture" is simply printed. So it won't be rough and it will wash well! Hope that helps!
I like the blue one best.

ReplyDeleteI thought I liked the blue on your FB page the best, but then I saw the purple. It's so pretty. And, your block is very pretty. pegandky@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI love the pineapple block and using Burlap Bright just makes this block so pretty and bold. So great to have the tutorial as we can learn and make this block ourselves.
