I have never made a skirt before. I did make an apron in home ec class, which is kinda close!
ReplyDeleteThat is a darling skirt. I made a skirt for my granddaughter 5+ years ago out of fabric left over from a quilt I made her. We were admiring the photo of her in it 2 weeks ago when she was here. She said she remembered the skirt but didn't know where it went. Probably to a thrift store if I know her Mom.
ReplyDeleteSewing garments used to be all I did until discovering quilting! So, I've made lots of dresses, pants, skirts, etc. In the years since I started quilting, I've made a few skirts for my grand daughter & grand niece.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors in this fabric line!! Beautiful for sweet little girl clothes! Nope--I've never made a skirt. I probably did something in Home Ec many, many years ago.

What a sweet skirt. I have made a patchwork skirt before. It was for my granddaughter, I loved how it turned out.
ReplyDeleteOh most definitely!! It was my first sewing project ever in 8th grade home ec. We made an a-line skirt so we could learn a waistband, a zipper, and a buttonhole! I made a brown skirt, and after that I made a long sleeve blue dress with a zipper, and a self belt. Got an A. Mrs. Brown. I will never forget! Circa 1967 or so. :) And I made several more after that.

ReplyDeleteWhen in high school, I made wool skirts for myself. When I was in my mid-20's broomstick skirts were in style, so I made a cotton 3-tiered broomstick skirt for myself. I also made a knit top with an applique to match the pattern in the skirt.

ReplyDeleteI used to make my own skirts when I was a teenager but usually in warm and cozy wool never patchwork!

ReplyDeleteSkirts for me yes, it's been a while. I've not made one for a little girl in a LONNNGGG time so the pattern would be so welcome as I have many little girls to stitch for now and CHerry's elephants, zebras etc would be a hit w/them all. Thank you so much.
