Designer Sampler Assembly

We're celebrating National Quilting Month with a Sampler Quilt created using blocks by many of our fabric designers. Throughout the month, we've shared a block made by each of the designers listed below and featuring their newest fabric line, along with directions to sew that block.

Today we're assembling our Sampler Quilt! Come sew with us!

Cutting:
From the sashing strip fabric:
(24) 2-1/2" x 12-1/2" pieces

From the sashing square fabric:
(16) 2-1/2" squares

From the outer border fabric:
(6) 4-1/2" x WOF strips

From the binding fabric:
(6) 2-1/4" x WOF strips

Backing: 3-1/4 yards
Batting: 58" square

Assemble the Quilt:
1. Lay out (3) blocks in a row alternating with (4) 2-1/2" x 12-1/2" sashing strips. Sew into a block row. Make a total of (3) block rows.
2. Lay out (3) 2-1/2" x 12-1/2" sashing strips alternating with (4) 2-1/2" sashing squares. Sew into a sashing row. Make a total of (4) sashing rows.
3. Lay out the (4) sashing rows alternating with (3) block rows. Sew the rows together to complete the quilt center.
4. Sew the (6) 4-1/2" x WOF outer border strips short ends together into a long strip. Cut (2) 52-1/2" lengths and (2) 44-1/2" lengths. Sew the shorter strips to the sides of the quilt and the longer strips to the top and bottom.

Finishing:
1. Layer the backing right side down, batting, and quilt top right side up. Baste the layers together and quilt as desired. Trim the backing and batting even with the quilt top.
2. Use the (6) 2-1/2" x WOF binding strips to bind the quilt.

On Friday, we'll share Sampler Quilts using all nine of the fabric lines we've shared here, as well as give away a few fabric bundles so you can start your own version!
