Cheryl Haynes has not just one, but two collections coming out! We showed you Moose Lake here; today we're sharing My Secret Garden. Wouldn't you love to have this garden in your backyard?
Tell us about My Secret Garden.
I love bunnies. They’re one of my favorite things to use in
designs. I have a pattern called My Secret Garden that was the inspiration—a soft
little bunny hiding in the tall grass and flowers.
How did the panel come together?
I doodle a lot. The garden theme came first, and then the
ladder and the boot. I had a free quilt pattern of a booth with flowers in it
for my Sunshine Garden collection, and I wanted to include that here. The ball
jars came next. I’m a sucker for birdhouses. We have so many in our yard.
Do you have a favorite section of the panel?
Probably the garden scene. That’s my vision of my secret garden—the iron fence, birdbath, and bunch of flowers and birds. I’d really enjoy sitting there.

Let’s talk about the color palette.
This is lighter colored collection that I normally do. Warm
yellows and soft blues, tan and green. The colors keep it soft.
Tell us about some of the coordinates.
The leaf and berry print is one of my most favorite tonals ever.
There’s just enough pattern so it’s not like using a solid.
I also love the daisies; all three color versions.

We'll be sharing My Secret Garden quilt patterns later this week!
Love all those daisies 😀
ReplyDeleteI get so upset when I see all these amazing fabrics as it seems impossible to buy Benartex fabrics here in the UK and there are so many wonderful designs I long for that you have produced
