I've never done a hoop quilt, but after seeing AnneMarie's creations, I'm inspired to do one. What a fun project and a great way to decorate walls. Thanks for this inspiring blog hop, and for the chance to win fabric!

ReplyDeleteI used to do a lot of hand embroidery using hoops. And I have done a machine embroidered project that I placed in a hoop for hanging. Love the idea of a quilting block in a hoop.

ReplyDeleteI used to do a lot of hand embroidery and thus used a hoop. But I did not use a hoop to display the embroidery, as often the embroidered item was destined for a specific use - pillow top, bureau scarf, etc.
ReplyDeleteOh I love this! I "rounded out" some quilt blocks my grandmother left for me and then embroidered on them, leaving them in the hoop for them to hang. I gave them to siblins, cousins and kids that were close to her. I didn't know there was a name for this technique! Thanks for enlightening me today!

ReplyDeleteI have learning embroidery on my bucket list. Actually I had my kids work on some improv hoop embroidery as something to keep them busy last winter-- they really seemed to enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteLove this project!! I have done cross-stitched Christmas tree decorations in tiny hoops that look adorable on the tree. I've also done cross stitch in canning jar rings which is similar. They make my jam gifts adorable.
