The new modern e-zine you won't want to miss!

UPDATE: You can now download Modern by the Yard to your computer. See the bottom of this post for more details.

Do you know the expression for March "in like a lion, out like a lamb"?
We're starting March off with a ROAR by launching Modern by the Yard, our brand new e-zine.

This online magazine has a decidedly modern feel (hence the name!) and is packed with inspiration and ideas for using Benartex, Kanvas and Contempo fabrics to create modern projects. We are very excited to bring you this new endeavor, as we are fervent supporters of the modern quilting movement and bringing quilting to the next generation.

Our first issue of this quarterly digital publication focuses on our blender and basic collections. You'll find four patterns, Debby Kratovil's Modern with a Twist column, a gorgeous showcase of Romanian quilter Geta Grama's art made with Fossil Ferns, and a gallery of all our modern leaning basic collections. We know you will love it!

Click on the orange box below to browse the first issue!

We're also asking you, our loyal blog readers, to help us spread the word about Modern by the Yard. Click on the link above and turn to page 32 to find out how you can help (and win free fabric at the same time!)

Here's a quick peek at a few of the pages...

  1. I don't consider myself a modern quilter, but I did enjoy looking through your new e-zine. I saw some ideas I liked and especially like the bright colors in many of the blender fabric lines. Good luck with the new publication.

  3. Thank you for sharing the many ideas in the new e-zine, and for helping me trust that the lovely and versatile fossil ferns line will be around for many quilts to come. I especially enjoyed Debby Kratovil's spin on hexies, Geta Grama's exquisite designs and color play, and the deconstructed churn dash. So many inspirations, so little time!! I look forward to future issues.

  8. Love the new magazine! Very colorful with great content. There's only one problem. I can't find a way to download & save it so I can print patterns. Is there a way that I'm not finding? Other than that I'm really enjoying the magazine. Thank you & God bless

  9. I found the magazine interesting, but I prefer to read a printed copy as it is more comfortable for me. I finally found a way to download, but then it wanted me to subscribe/open an account in with some other site which I know nothing about. Not so good.

  10. Love the looks and patterns in the new magazine. However, even reading (or trying to read)it was difficult since I could not change the size of the font. I really couldn't read the dimensions of the pieces to cut. Could you find a way to allow the readers to change the size of the font and also to save the magazine for future reference? That would be VERY helpful

  14. This magazine is a fantastic addition to the quilting world. It is bright, uncluttered and filled with quilts I want to make. Geta is my all-time favourite quilter and I knew anything she was involved in would be excellent.
Congratulations on your launch and I hope to read more of your work.
My browser, Mozilla, allows the ability to change font size so I did not have the problem one commenter noted.
