Day 7: Cookie Cutter Projects

So glad to see you today!
Yesterday's project was for the kids; today's project is to do with the kids.

We've got an alternative to cookie making, and it's definitely less messy than pulling out the frosting, sprinkles, and colored sugar. It's sugar free, too!
All you need are some fabric scraps, fusible web, some cookie cutters, and your imagination!

Click here to download the pdf for this project.

Here are a few suggestions to get you started, all from the
Wintersong collection by Cheryl Haynes:

This homey plaid would make a cute stocking!

Use this pine needle and cone print for a Christmas tree.

Textured brown, ideal for a reindeer!

Either of these next two prints would be perfect for a gingerbread man.

Use ribbons, buttons, other trim and fabric markers to embellish.

Day 6: Lunchbag for Kids

Only one week until Christmas! Today we have a free pattern for a child's lunch bag--a perfect stocking stuffer!

(See yesterday's correct answer and the bundle winner's name at the bottom of this post.)

This cute patchwork drawstring bag can be used as lunch sack or for holding and transporting toys (think Matchbox cars, blocks, or small dolls). And we're sure you're not surprised--we've even got a fabric line suggestion for you to use.
Have you seen our Googlies prints by Michele D'Amore?

It's not often that you can call monsters sweet, but these goofy, quirky characters certainly are! Here's a section of the border print.

And a sampling of some of the other fabrics in the line. You could even personalize the lunch bag with the child's name or initials by fussy cutting these letter blocks.

The collection comes in a pastel colorway too.

Click here for the pdf pattern to make the lunch bag.

Day 5: Mini Sachet & Pillow

We're back today with a fast and inexpensive stocking stuffer idea, plus a bonus project.

(See yesterday's correct answer and the bundle winner's name at the bottom of this post.)

Update a classic idea--the sachet--with a modern feel by using contemporary prints. Daisy prints from the Sun-kissed collection by Michele D'Amore makes this trio so cheery! Who wouldn't love to open up a dresser drawer or linen closet to see these?

The filling? Rice splashed with oh-so-soothing lavender essential oil.

Bonus idea: You can also join charm squares into a four-patch and stitch a larger aromatherapy pillow. Pom-pom trim is optional but highly recommended!

Click here for a pdf pattern for these ideas, plus more suggestions for scented fillers.

How many prints are there in the Michele D'Amore's Urbanicity collection?

The answer: 16

The winner: Hanke, who said:

Congratulations! We've emailed you to get your mailing address.

Two quick notes about the giveaways:
First, when you comment, if your "name" comes up as Anonymous, please make sure you leave something that identifies you in your comment. It doesn't have to be your email address, as long as you come back to check if you won. But your name, or a nickname, or something. If an "Anonymous" wins, it's going to be hard to know who it is! Thanks.

Second, This is how we're choosing the winner. Each day, we make a numbered list of everyone who answered the question correctly. Then we use random.org to select a number from the correct entries, and match that number up to the numbered list of names.

Day 4: Fabric postcards

We're glad you stopped by!
(Also, answers to the trivia questions for Days 1 & 2, plus the names of winners, are listed at the bottom of this post.)

Here's another perfect gift idea: personalized notecards. Or use holiday fabric and make them fabric gift tags instead!
This idea came from Mr. B's Preview Pack Club Member Jeanette Sillonis, who uses the 5" squares from being part of the club to create unique postcards. Simple stitch up a mini quilt, adding batting and quilt it as desired, and then fuse with a layer of interfacing (for stiffness) it to a solid piece of muslin (to be the back side where you write). Use a nice thick zig zag stitch around the edges, and your postcard is complete!

Here are some additional postcards Jeanette has made:

For Christmas tags, try fussy-cutting designs from holiday prints:
