Happy Birthday, Eleanor!

We'd like to send a huge "Happy Birthday" shout-out to Eleanor Burns! This iconic quilter turns 70 today.

  3. Congratulations Eleanor! I'm thrilled to share the same birthday with you. Found you on public TV years ago and would watch when I wasn't at work. My mom couldn't remember your name but loved the way you would throw the scraps over your shoulder.

  13. Happy birthday, Eleanor! I credit you as one of the two women who started me on my quilting journey. I used to watch your show, and Shar Jorgenson's Quilting from the Heartland, on PBS while living in Hawaii some 25 years ago. I cannot thank you enough!

  15. Happy Birthday, Eleanor, and many,many more. I am going to meet you eye to eye one of these days. I am 8 days older than you, and watch your RFD shows every week and have 40 of them recorded and have lots of your books and videos. You are my inspiration, and I thank you for what you have done for the quilting world. You are the greatest. You did a beautiful job raising your sons, and survived like no one else, With affection my quilting instructor, have a great day. Wish I was there with you. It would be so fun. Betty

  22. I learned to quilt from Eleanor by watching a PBS series while my daughter was getting chemo infusions 23 years ago. Now that daughter is also a quilter. Thank you El, and happy 70th.
